Super Sloppy Joes

A sloppy pile of ground beef, tomato sauce, onions and deliciousness.

To make this meaty goodness, you will need : Ground beef, Green pepper, Onion, Garlic, Tomato Sauce, Ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Vinegar, Salt and Pepper.

 Put 1/2  lb of Ground beef into a pan and stir continuously so that it comes out in little bitty bits.

When it starts browning, add 1/2 Cup chopped Green pepper.

and cook it till the meat is completely brown.

To this, add 1/2 Cup chopped Onion

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Pepper

1Tbsp minced Garlic

5Tbsp  Ketchup

Now give it a good stir and get it all mixed up well. Cook for 2 minutes on low flame.

To this add, 3Tbsp Tomato sauce

and mix it again.

Then add, 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

and   1/2 Tbsp. Vinegar and stir it all around.

Finally pour  1/4 Cup Water and let it cook for few minutes until the liquid reduces slightly and the mixture is nice and creamy.

To serve, melt some butter in a pan

Place both halves of hamburger buns face down

and lightly toast them.

Spoon generous amount of mixture into the bun and top with the other half.

RECIPE
  • Ground Beef - 1/2 lb
  • Green pepper - 1/2 Cup
  • Chopped onion- 1/2 Cup
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic minced - 1 Tbsp
  • Ketchup - 5 Tbsp
  • Tomato Sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • Vinegar - 1/2 Tbsp
  • Water - 1/4 Cup
  • Hamburger Buns - 4
 
DIRECTIONS
  • Brown the meat, green pepper and the onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, breaking up the meat into crumbles as it cooks.
  • Add the garlic, salt, pepper, all the sauces and vinegar and cook 5 minutes more, stirring occasionally.
  • Add water, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5 minutes more.
  • Toast the buns and place a half-cup scoop of the mixture onto each bun and serve hot.
