Broccoli Stir-fry (Mezhukkupuratti)

Don't really like broccoli, then try this Kerala style Broccoli stir-fry . 

To make this you will need Broccoli, Onion, Green chilly, Turmeric powder, Mustard, Pepper (not shown because I forgot), Oil and Salt.
Remove broccoli florets from the stem.

Chop them into medium sized florets.

Slice it once again

Wash it , strain and transfer to a large bowl. 

Next slice 3 Green chillies

Slice half an Onion

And cut them again into half.

Toss the sliced broccoli with green chillies

1/4 tsp. Turmeric powder

and 1/2 tsp Salt.

In a pan, add some oil and splutter 1/2 tsp. Mustard seeds

Add the broccoli and cook it covered on medium heat until tender but not mushy.

Finally add 1/4 tsp. Pepper and cook over medium-high for 1 to 2 minutes, tossing the mixture so that it evenly coats
and scoop into a serving bowl. Enjoy !

RECIPE

Ingredients:
Broccoli - 1 head
Onion - 1/2 Sliced
Green chilli - 3 Sliced
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1/4 tsp

Directions:
Remove broccoli florets from stems and chop into medium florets.
Slice half of an onion.
Slice green chilli.
Toss everything with salt and turmeric in a bowl.
Splutter the mustard seeds in a pan in 1 Tbsp oil.
Add the broccoli and cook it covered on medium heat until tender.
Finally add the pepper, toss it so that it evenly coats.
Cook for another 2 minutes and scoop into a serving bowl.

  1. Great post!. For all the stir fry sauce recipes I saw on the internet this is the only one really amazed me. Because the ingredients given here are all affordable and it is easy to prepare. I'm sure my husband will like this very much. Thank you for sharing this one.
